Meatballs - Swedish
These meatballs are baked, and then served with gravy.
Servings: 4 people
Ingredients
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. fine fresh breadcrumbs
- 1/3 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 lb. ground beef, or combined ground beef and pork
- 1 egg, beaten lightly
- Salt and pepper
- 1 package brown gravy mix
- 1 box macaroni & cheese
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. margarine
Instructions
- » Preheat oven to 400 degrees.» Combine milk and breadcrumbs in a large bowl, then let stand 5 minutes.» Add onion, meat, egg, and salt and pepper, and stir until combined well.» Shape the meat into walnut-sized meatballs, and place on a lightly oiled cookie sheet, leaving space between them.» Bake meatballs. Turn them after 10 minutes, and then every 5 minutes after that, so that they brown on all sides.» Bake 25-30 minutes, or until well browned.» While meatballs are baking, make gravy according to package directions.» Prepare macaroni & cheese with milk and margarine according to directions on the box, or use your favorite variation.» Serve macaroni & cheese with meatballs and gravy on top.
