Macaroni with Bacon, Tomato, and Cheddar
Bacon and tomato add great flavor to this dish.
Servings: 4 people
- 1 box macaroni & cheese
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 4 strips bacon
- Salt and pepper
- 1 medium tomato, sliced 1/4-inch thick
- 3/4 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- » Preheat oven to 400 degrees.» Prepare macaroni & cheese with milk and margarine according to directions on the box, or use your favorite variation.» While macaroni is cooking, cook bacon in a skillet until crisp but not burned.» Drain bacon on paper towels, and crumble.» When macaroni & cheese is prepared, season it with salt and pepper to taste.» Put macaroni & cheese in a shallow baking dish, patting down evenly.» Place tomato slices on top of macaroni. Spread shredded cheese on top of dish, then sprinkle with bacon.» Bake 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbling.
