Layered, Baked Macaroni & Cheese
This is a simple, straight-forward approach to baked macaroni & cheese.
- 8 oz. dried elbow macaroni
- 2 1/2 c.(10 oz) sharp Cheddar, shredded
- 3/4 c. c. milk
- Salt and pepper
- » Preheat oven to 350 degrees.» Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water, until al dente. Drain.» Spray casserole dish with non-stick spray.» Put 1/3 of the macaroni in the casserole dish. Cover with 1/3 of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper.» Add two more layers the same way.» Pour milk evenly over the top of the dish.» Bake uncovered, 30 to 40 minutes, or until milk is no longer liquid, and surface begins to brown.» Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
